DI 1242 Woodbine Luxurious Director Chair | Factory Direct
High-Back Director Chair with Headrest | Manesar, Gurugram, Faridabad and PAN India | B2B, B2C and D2C
Think about the last four-hour budget review you sat through. Somewhere around the second hour you stopped hearing the numbers and started noticing your chair. That’s the moment a director chair either earns its place in the cabin or quietly lets you down.
The DI 1242 is built for that second hour. There’s a headrest for when you lean back to think, extra cushioning on the seat and back for when the meeting runs over, and metal hand rests with pads so your arms have somewhere proper to land. The chrome base on twin castors keeps the whole thing looking sharp from the doorway to the desk.
We make it in our Faridabad factory and sell it direct, so one chair for one cabin and a full set for a whole floor come off the same line, built to the same standard.
What Is the DI 1242, in Plain Words?
The DI 1242 is a high-back director chair from Woodbine. It has an ergonomically designed L-shaped ply seat and back with a headrest, high-density foam with extra cushioning at the back and seat, PU leatherette upholstery, metal hand rests with pads, a torsion bar mechanism, gas-lift height adjustment and a metal chrome base on twin caster wheels. You’ll find it in our Senior Executive Chairs range.
Where You’ll Feel the Difference
The Headrest
It’s the first thing people reach for. Lean back at the end of a long call and your head and neck finally get to switch off.
Extra Cushioning on Seat and Back
The seat and back sit on an L-shaped ply frame with high-density foam, and the spec adds extra cushion at both. In practice that means a chair that stays comfortable well after the first hour.
Metal Hand Rests with Pads
Metal gives the arms a clean, solid look, and the pad takes the hard edge off. The product page lists them as metal hand rests with pad and doesn’t mention height adjustment on the arms.
Torsion Bar and Gas Lift
Recline with the torsion bar mechanism and set your seat height with the gas lift, so the chair adjusts to you instead of the other way around.
Chrome Base on Twin Castors
A metal chrome base gives the chair its finish from the side, and twin castor wheels let it glide across the floor when you pull in to the desk.
Choosing Between the DI 1242 and Its Neighbours
If you’re torn, these two comparisons usually settle it. Everything below comes from the product pages on woodbine.co.in.
DI 1242 vs DI 1239: Chrome-Metal Look or Softer Handles?
The DI 1239 Boss Chair is another high-back chair with a headrest, but it goes for soft-cushioned handles at a fixed height and a PP base with a metallic finish. The DI 1242 swaps those for metal hand rests with pads and a metal chrome base.
Go for the DI 1242 if you like the crisp metal-and-chrome look. Go for the DI 1239 if you prefer softer-looking handles.
DI 1242 vs DI 1207: Fixed Hand Rests or Adjustable?
The DI 1207 Black Senior Executive Chair comes with an adjustable handrest with soft cushioning and an aluminium five-star base on twin castors, and it’s shown in a black PU leatherette finish. The DI 1242 doesn’t list adjustable arms and uses a chrome base.
If arm height matters to you, look at the DI 1207. If you want the headrest-and-extra-cushion combination on a chrome base, the DI 1242 is the one.
Set the Whole Cabin Around It
A good chair feels even better in a room that’s been planned around it. Everything here comes from the same factory.
Across the Desk: Medium Back to Go with High Back
A high-back chair for you and a medium-back chair for your guest is a classic cabin pairing. Two that sit well opposite the DI 1242:
- Medium-back revolving: the DI 1243 Elegant Visitor Chair carries the same ideas as the DI 1242, including a headrest, a metal hand rest with pad, a torsion bar, gas lift and a metal chrome base on twin castors. Side by side, they read as a set.
- Medium-back, fixed height: the DI 1244 Versatile Visitor Chair also has a headrest and a metal hand rest with pad, on a chrome-plated metal frame. It stays put, which suits a meeting corner.
More options live in our Visitor Chairs collection.
In Front of You: The Right Table
- Director table: the DI 201 Director Office Table has a 36 mm prelaminated top with a wire manager, a side table with drawer unit, a storage unit with an openable shutter and a front modesty panel. The DI 202 Director Desk is a similar layout with a side storage unit and two drawers. See the full Director Tables
- Executive table: for a tighter cabin, the DI 303 Executive Table measures 150 × 150 × 75 cm overall and comes with a side table with two drawers and shelves. More in Executive Tables.
- Desk: for a manager’s room or a home office, the DI 412 Computer Table is 120 × 60 × 75 cm with a three-drawer pedestal. Browse Computer Tables for more.
